Rare Vintage GENERAL ELECTRIC AR 105-125V 2 1/2W Argon Glow Discharge Lightbulb
Purple / UV.. This "GE AR" labeled appears to be a 2.5W version of the similar AR-1 or W1A bulb.
In used, working condition. Selling AS-IS.
These lamps were used in argon printers and in some science experiment kits, and were also sold to be used as night lights and safety lights for exits and alarms, etc.
Argon glow lamps are also a small source of ultraviolet radiation and were promoted during the 1950's by an American firm marketing an educational pack of small rocks and mineral specimens, which could be easily identified thanks to their appearance under ultraviolet light.
