This is an extremely rare piece. If you're familiar with Reyn Spooner Hawaiian shirts then you probably have no idea that it was first called Reyn's Men's Wear. The company was started in the city of Avalon on Catalina Island. This trophy was from a fishing tournament put on by Reyn's Men's Wear and given to the angler who caught the bigger White Sea Bass. The base is made from marbled bakelite and the barometer and fish are brass. The top handle of the ships wheel is missing but that really isn't bad for an 80+ year trophy. This is an amazing piece for any vintage collection.
Reyn Spooner is an American fashion design company founded in 1956 by Reyn McCullough and Ruth Spooner. The company was originally named Reyns Men's wear on the island of Catalina founded by Reyn McCullough, who sought to replace the kitschy and poorly-fitting Hawaiian shirts with a more stylish alternative for professional and casual wear. He started Reyn's Men's Wear in the 1940s
