This gently used hardback published by Kodansha International provides an authoritative overview of the history and development of ceramics in Japan, including prominent potters, kilns and firing techniques, decorating, tools and more. Herbert Sanders was a leading authory on ceramic techniques and for this book he engaged in extensive interviews with Japanese potters. Richly illustrated with both full-color and black & white photos. The overall condition is very good with tight binding and clean unmarked pages. The cloth cover is clean and the boards in very good shape without bumping or fraying. The dust jacket is clean but has some wear and small tears on the top and bottom edges.
