Vintage pair of Chinese Mudmen figurines, also known as Shiwan ware. These are small, handcrafted ceramic figures traditionally made from clay or mud. They often depict scenes from everyday life, folklore, or Taoist deities.
The figurines originated during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) and were used to populate miniature landscapes called Penjing, a precursor to modern bonsai. The small one has flaws/breaks on his front feet.
The black stone is not for sale.
