Antique Uncle Sam Liggett & Meyers Wooden Cigar Box. Measures 12" x 5" x 3" depth. Marked "Uncle Sam" on two sides with faint picture of cigar on one of them.. Partial green seal on 2 sides with one seal featuring a Native American. One side reads, "This box contains 32 10 cents cut." Bottom of box reads,"Liggett & Meyers Tob. (Tobacco) CO. (Company) Factory No. 74 1st Dist. (District) State of Missouri St. Louis Notice: The Man'F' R' (Manufacturer) of this Tobacco has complied with all the requirements of law. Every person is cautioned under the penalties of law not to use this package for tobacco again". Faint numerals 8-19-19 (possibly date) on bottom. Box has some staining on bottom. No lid. Liggett & Meyers Tobacco Company was founded in 1873 in St. Louis, Missouri through partnership of John Edmund Liggett and George Smith Myers.
