In the 1920s/1930s, British jewelry based on the delicate wings of the Morpho tropical butterfly (usually blue) was quite popular. Made of sterling silver, the special butterfly wings came from dead butterflies in South America.
Ea piece of butterfly wing jewelry is unique. Its wings have shiny and dense scales. The structure of the scales will produce a charming azure color due to refraction & reflection depending on the angle of light exposure.
Do not soak butterfly wing jewelry in water or rinse it
